*About Rooibos Tea
Rooibos Tea is a mountain herb grown in South Africa that is naturally sweet tasting, caffeine free, and low in tannin. Its soothing properties have aided in such health problems as insomnia, colic in babies, irritability, headaches, and nervous tension. In addition, it helps release natural antioxidants. This information is intended for informational purposes only and is not intended to take the place of medical care or treatment.
Brewing Suggestion for Organic Cranberry Orange Rooibos Tea:
Hot Tea: Bring some fresh water to a boil. Place 1 tea bag in an 8 oz cup or mug, add boiling water, and steep for 4-5 minutes or to taste. If desired, add sweetener to taste.
1 Quart Iced Tea: Pour 2 cups of fresh boiling water over 4-5 tea bags in a quart size container. Steep 10 minutes; then add 2 more cups of fresh cold water. Serve over ice. If desired, flavor with lemon or/and your favorite sweetener.
It isn't often that a for-profit company gives me a warm-cozy feeling inside. But Shepherd's Garden Tea has managed to do it. Their website, the motif on their boxes, their prices, and their flavors all emit an old-fashioned, "at your Grandma's House" sort of vibe. Bible verses on the tea tags, like fortunes inside a cookie, are a fun addition to tea time. My friend and I both gushed, "What does your say?" as we sat down over a cup of their Organic Cranberry Orange Rooibos.
Real tea, for me, is black. Assam. Irish Breakfast. Black Currant. Give it to me straight. Give it to me strong. Its only when my stomach or my bedtime announce that I've had enough of the good stuff, that I'll reach for a cup of Rooibos, preferably green. Most red Rooibos teas are cloying, pungent and almost vinegar- like to my nose and mouth. But with the Holidays approaching, I was intrigued by a blend that used ingredients that I put in my Thanksgiving relishes.
Boy am I glad I tried this tea! (From TeaViews Reviews - click here to continue reading.)
