According to the Tea Association of the U.S.A., over 127 million Americans are drinking tea, and 2009 was the 18th consecutive year where tea sales have increased. The Association stated: "The industry anticipates strong continuous growth over the next five years," largely from the growing "interest in the healthy properties of tea, and by the continued discovery of Specialty Tea."
What's more, studies have shown that consumers are increasingly choosing organic food and beverages over non-organic. The Organic Trade Association says that the organic industry grew to $14.6 billion in consumer sales in 2005, up more than 17% from the year before.
